  • FRIDAY MEALS OVERVIEW | ReFuel Washougal

    Friday Meals ReFuel operates entirely on the generosity of volunteers Contact us to get involved! You and your group will plan, cook, and serve a meal at the Washougal Community Center on the Friday you signed up for. The meal plan is up to you! You will shop for ingredients and prepare the meal. ReFuel will reimburse you up to $200 for the cost of the meal. ReFuel Washougal provides a meal Facilitator who will be on site for any questions and to provide guidance in making your meal a success. Your Facilitator will meet you at the Washougal Community Center. Dinner is served from 4-6 pm. Groups will have access to our full kitchen as early as 2 pm. All serving utensils, dishes, cutlery, and paper products will be provided. More instructions will be provided to you as your meal date approaches. We serve currently between 80-140 meals. Our volunteer coordinator can provide you with stats from the last few weeks. Your PIC (person in charge) must have a current Food Handlers Card from the state of Washington. This can be done online for $10 and takes about 30 minutes. If you have never been to a ReFuel meal, we encourage you to come alongside another group to get the scope of the evening.   • SEVERE WEATHER SHELTER | ReFuel Washougal

    REFUEL WASHOUGAL AND SALVATION ARMY JOIN FORCES TO OFFER EXPANDED SEVERE WEATHER SHELTER SERVICES TO OUR COMMUNITY ReFuel Washougal and Salvation Army of Camas/Washougal are proud to announce a new partnership to offer our area enhanced life-saving services during freezing temperatures and inclement weather. Beginning winter of 2024, ReFuel’s overnight Severe Weather Shelter will be combined with Salvation Army’s Day Shelter. The alliance will operate out of The Salvation Army located at 1612 I St, Washougal, WA 98671. This collaboration creates efficiencies in both organizations and allows alignment in meeting the needs of those individuals. In previous years ReFuel Washougal’s Severe Weather Shelter offered overnight services, then our clients would go the day center at The Salvation Army. Going forward, guests will have the benefit of all the amazing services in one place, there will be an increase in available beds, access to hygiene facility, and pets will be allowed! The Severe Weather Shelter will continue to operate primarily through the generosity of community volunteers. Training is provided by the organization. The first training class will be held on November 6th at 6pm at The Salvation Army. For questions about the training class and to register, please call The Salvation Army at (360) 835-3171. Additional dates for training classes will be announced for those who cannot attend the first training session. During severe winter weather there is a shortage of overnight shelter in Clark County. ReFuel Washougal, in partnership with the The Salvation Army, spearheads efforts to meet this need in East County whenever the weather forecast predicts snow, freezing rain, or temperatures below 30 F. ReFuel Friday meals will be BACK AT THE WASHOUGAL COMMUNITY CENTER, starting Friday, March 14th.   Indoor meal dining will be from 4:00-6:00 pm.
Moving forward, due to health department regulations,
ReFuel will no longer be offering meals to go.
